Visa-Exempt Entry
Holders of ordinary passports from Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Canada, and the UK may enter China visa-free for conference participation, business, tourism, and exchange visits for a stay of up to 30 days (valid until Dec 31, 2026). This policy took effect for Canada and the UK on Feb 17, 2026中国领事服务. No visa application is required for eligible attendees.
Recommended Visa for Most Attendees
Apply for a Tourist (L) Visa (the most convenient option for conference participation). It is generally issued with a validity of 30–90 days for single/multiple entries (duration varies by nationality); no conference invitation letter is required for this visa. The application fee ranges from $60–$130, subject to nationality and current rates.

Complete the online visa application form via COVA (https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn).
Book an appointment via the official Chinese visa appointment system AVAS (https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn).
Attend the submission in person at the designated Chinese embassy/consulate or visa application center with your passport, application confirmation, and appointment voucher.
